HR Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering HR and administrative information into business plans and proposals, as well as a monitor of current performance standards of workforce while maintaining daily HR functions.

The Job

Responsibilities

  1. Developing and implementing recruitment procedures, posting job openings, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, conducting background checks, and making hiring decisions.
  2. Once new employees are hired, you will be responsible for onboarding.
  3. Benefits and Compensation: managing employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and employee compensation queries from staff.
  4. Performance management programs, assisting managers with setting goals, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance issues.
  5. Responsible for managing employee relations, including addressing employee grievances, resolving conflicts, and providing guidance on employee relations issues.
  6. Responsible for ensuring the company complies with employment laws and regulations, such as equal employment opportunity laws, wage and hour laws, and health and safety regulations.
  7. Developing and implementing employee training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  8. Responsible for managing HR information systems, including HR databases, software applications, and online tools.
  9. Employee Engagement: You may be responsible for developing and implementing employee engagement programs, including employee surveys, recognition programs, and employee events.
  10. Assist with the implementation of overall HR strategies to support the company's overall business goals and objectives.

Your Profile

Formal Schooling/Degree Minimum: 

  • Matric certificate or equivalent.

  • B-degree in HRM/Industrial psychology.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in General HR Admin.

  • Industry specific experience beneficial.

Knowledge:

  1. Understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory related compliance pertaining to HR procedures and best practices.
  2. Understanding of BCEA, LRA and HRIS.
  3. Strong Excel knowledge.
