Manuchar South Africa Restores Football Field in Philippi Village
Manuchar South Africa had the honour of being part of the Belgian Chamber of Commerce Cape Town 2023 initiative to reform the neglected soccer pitch in the Philippi Township in Cape Town. The PHILIPPI VILLAGE has 32 football clubs that are associated with the South African Football Association with only one functioning field.
With the State visit of their Majesties the King and Queen of Belgium, the Belgian Chamber of Commerce held the inaugural ceremony of the soccer pitch project on Sunday the 26th of March. The reconstruction of the grass pitch is still underway, however the fundraising has helped to finance the new goalposts, sport equipment, the pitch, clubhouse and soccer kits for game day ⚽
Ntsikelelo Qinga, the Philippi Village community liaison said “We are thrilled to provide the community with this sports facility, and know that children and adults alike will make full use of it. Soccer is one of the great connectors, with the power to engage, inspire and uplift.”
