Carlos Lucioni mentions the mechanisms to prevent another environmental catastrophe at sea.
The General Directorate of Environmental Health and Food Safety (Digesa) reported that due to the hydrocarbon spill, a total of 24 beaches have been affected. As if that were not enough, last Sunday, May 1, a new oil spill occurred at the Conchán Multiboyas Terminal, in the district of Lurín.
According to Carlos Lucioni, commercial manager of Manuchar, there is a set of tools and supplies that help anyone respond to a spill safely and efficiently.
“The implementation of an anti-spill kit acts immediately in the absorption of oil. The contribution is that it prevents future dangers that may occur, maintains regulatory compliance and minimizes risk. Our recommendation is that companies have this type of equipment for prevention and also to respond quickly to the possibility of a spill.”
The Manuchar specialist explains that the “anti-spill kit” is divided into three types of tools: the universal one, for absorption with all types of substance; oil, for the absorption of any hydrocarbon derivative; and hazmat, for the absorption of all kinds of heavy chemicals.
Finally, Carlos comments that the prevention of this type of environmental disaster must be accompanied by the responsibility of the authorities, who can implement measures to strengthen the environmental sector.
