Manuchar signs an agreement to acquire Plury Química
São Paulo. 26 December 2022. Manuchar, a leading global distributor of chemicals with headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium, has reached an agreement to acquire Plury Química. This acquisition fits Manuchar’s ambition to strengthen its leading chemical distribution platform and broaden its product portfolio.
Established in 1989, Plury Química is well positioned as a supplier of specialties and ingredients to the Human Nutrition and beverage industries as well as other important segments, including Crop Nutrition.
With headquarters located in Diadema in the State of São Paulo and a branch in Paraíba, Plury Quimica has become a leader in the import of specialties and ingredients in Brazil. Plury Quimica serves an impressive range of customers that includes the region’s largest food and beverage producers, having established a reputation for product quality and supply reliability in the region. Plury Quimica employs 50 people and has its own R&D laboratory.
Manuchar employs 2,500 employees worldwide. From its headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium it operates a local chemicals distribution network across North & Latin America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Manuchar has been present in Brazil since 1993 and today its activities cover the entire country. Its 450 employees in Brazil are based in its regional headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and five other offices and operational sites.
The closing of the agreement between the shareholders of Manuchar and Plury Química is foreseen in the first quarter of 2023, subject to approval by competition authorities.
