We are committed to ensure our workplace is free of discrimination, harassment and corruption, and that our employees are treated with respect.
The Manuchar Group Code of Conduct is part of our constant effort to maintain and strengthen trust among all our employees, business partners and other stakeholders. It describes the standards which are expected to be followed within the group. The core values include respecting human rights, protecting the environment, and following business ethics principles, supported by additional policies on topics such as money laundering and trade sanctions.
We embrace and care about our employees. Therefore, we implement a standardized employee management approach on working conditions including diversity factors, working hours, etc. This also assists us in measuring our progress in social dialogue and gender equality. Our permanent employees are all paid a salary above the local livable wage and are provided with insurance benefits according to local standards.
Manuchar has a tradition of investing in training. Via our global Manuchar training platform and learning management system we launch and manage employee training. From this platform we work against corruption in all its forms, including bribery and extortion, and reinforce all our principles and values in general. Specific awareness programs are implemented to empower our employees to identify and address the common business ethics issues that might arise in a workplace like information security and cash, gifts and entertainment.
Manuchar continues to demonstrate its transparency of information via its involvement with sustainability compliance platforms as Responsible Care®, Ecovadis® and SEDEX®. We maintain close involvement with the Belgian Association of Chemical Distributors (BACD). We address any customer or stakeholder request for improvement actions, specific to their market segment. We also maintain strong policies in relation to drug precursors, sanctions, conflict minerals, palm oil, child labor, and customs security.
