The Job

Based at our Head Office in Antwerp (Belgium), and reporting to the Regional Sales Manager Polymers, you will embark on an interesting journey:

  • Being in charge of sales and business development of Polymers in existing and new markets, mostly in Latin America. At the same time, you will be responsible for sourcing activities linked to your sales area (gradually also including the strategic development of products/suppliers/producers)
  • Recommending actions and initiatives to the Regional Sales Manager to further grow the business
  • Continuing existing customer relations, developing new recurrent business, aiming at product diversification, staying in daily contact with both customers and suppliers and sharing market intelligence with the team
  • Assessing risk elements, being able to report in a structured way and working closely with Finance and Credit Dept. to get the max. support
  • Traveling frequently and efficiently to visit key accounts and new customers in emerging markets in different geographical areas in order to build and maintain strong relationships. Attend fairs, visit suppliers in coordination with the team

Your Profile

  • You obtained a higher degree preferably in International Trade, Economics or Finance
  • You have min. 3 years of experience in a B2B environment of commodity or engineering Polymers or a proven track record in sales or purchase of commodities.
    Having worked in an international setting, preferably in Spanish speaking countries, will be considered a strong asset
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken). Knowledge of Dutch is a plus
  • You are commercial and result-driven, ambitious and eager to establish and sustain relationships with the (petro)-chemical industry and end-users globally
  • You have good basic knowledge of warehousing, logistics and international finance
  • You are organized and flexible (min. 20% travel), mature and open to different cultures
  • You are a strong communicator (internally and externally) with a talent for negotiations in an intermediate position
  • You are a real team-player and willing to work in a flat business structure
  • With your hands-on mentality you detect and take opportunities
