The Job

Based at our Head Office in Antwerp (Belgium), and reporting to the Regional Sales Manager Plastics, you will:

  • Be in charge of sales (business development) of plastics (polymers) in existing and new markets, mostly in South America. At the same time, you will be responsible for sourcing activities linked to your sales area (gradually also including the strategic development of suppliers/producers)
  • Recommending actions and initiatives to the Regional Sales Manager to further grow the business
  • Set up new sales initiatives, develop new recurrent business and stay alert for opportunities through daily contact with customers and suppliers
  • Travel frequently to visit key accounts and new customers in emerging markets in different geographical areas in order to build and maintain strong relationships

You will work closely together with the team of our business unit Plastics in a supportive atmosphere.

Your Profile

  • You obtained a higher degree in international trade, economics or finance
  • You have min. 3 years experience in a B2B environment of commodity or engineering plastics, or a proven track record in sales or purchase of commodities.
    Having worked in an international setting, preferably in Spanish speaking countries, will be considered a strong asset
  • Fluent in English and a good knowledge of Spanish (both written and spoken). Knowledge of Dutch is a plus
  • You are commercial and result driven, ambitious and eager to establish and sustain relationships with the (petro)-chemical industry and plastic converters globally
  • A good base knowledge of warehousing, logistics and international finance
  • You are organized and flexible (20% travel)
  • You are a strong communicator with a talent for negotiations
  • You are a real team player and willing to work in a flat business structure
  • With your hands-on mentality you detect and take opportunities
  • You are living in the region of Antwerp or willing to relocate
